3 for 3. We are excited!

September 2009

So, thanks for hanging in there with these random catch up posts... Maybe when I finally get caught up, I'll stay caught up... but in the mean time... Flash Back to September 2009...

We FINALLY (thanks to the help of MANY family members) get our house on the market!! a week and a half later we accept an offer... Who would have guessed it would go that fast? I guess all the hard work payed off! Here's how it all turned out!!
This is the one room that I miss. I think it is because it's the boy's room and Karl painted it for them... It was the one room that I felt bad about leaving behind.


Riser turns 3! How? How is that even possible?


It amazes me to look at him and see little boy arms and legs and body instead of baby fat. I am in wonder at how he now has his own opinion on everything from what food he wants to eat (nearly always quesadillas... still can't decide if that is just the "stock" answer, or if quesadillas always sound good) to what he wants to wear, watch, do, play... He's become his own little person. I couldn't be more proud of my little (oops BIG he'd be so upset if said little) guy.
To celebrate, we had a little party out my mom and dad's house.
We enjoyed one of the last "good days" of the year, swimming at one of our favorite swimming holes with the cousins.
I just love that grin...

We took a fabulous trip to Disney World with my parents... this one gets it's own post... stay tuned!

August 2009

We get to work, seriously, on getting the house ready to sell. Some "highlights" include:

*Coming down stairs to find Riser and Kayson compeltely covered in white paint. And watching as Riser shoves a paint brush full of paint into Kayson's mouth. Poison control was promptly called. Just so you know, that is a "fairly common" reason to call poison conrtol. Made me feel like not such a terrible mother.

* finding that every task we had on our list took at least twice the time we had anticipated, and often lead to another task we hadn't anticipated.

*The drywall guy, and never quite being sure if we'd ever see him again as he left each time.

We continued to enjoy our summer pass to Jumpin Jacks.

Who would have guessed that a one year old would have no fear of inflatable slides. This picture is of one of the mild ones, but this kid went on every slide there. some of them on his own!!! He would just turn around and death drop of the top! No fear in this one... makes me nervous for when he's a little bigger!

Anna and Isaac and family come for a visit. Cynthia and Brian host a fantastic "flooding the sandbox" and swimming party.
Kayson becomes a walking man. Nothing has been safe since.
Once walking was mastered, he went directly to climbing and jumping off anything he could find.

July 2009

We celebrated a fabulous 4th of July with our families. We spent the morning at the parade with Karl's family.

We usually go to the IHOP for breakfast before hand, but this year we decided to spare those sitting around us the wrath of 5 under the age 4, and opted for a picnic breakfast on the parade route. A fabulous choice if I do say so myself.
Later in the day we spent some time with my family... but no pictures were taken... don't know why... must have been a little tired...

We spent the weekend at the cabin with my family. Always relaxing. We also drove to Cascade Springs. Beautiful...

Kayson turned 1!!! We celebrated with a party at the park.
We tried having Kayson open his presents on his own, but he was a little slow. All the cousins (and big brother) were anxious as can be with all the gifts just waiting to be opened, we finally just told them all to grab one and go at it! Much quicker... Kayson later took time to examine each one.
In true Jenny form, I did leave his cake at home... nice work mom.

Luckily I did remember the ice cream, and Kayson was able to make a mess with that!

After the party, we had a fabulous time swimming with the cousins.
We were even lucky enough to have chosen a weekend that Jeff and Rach were in town! So fun to have ALL the cousins together.

Went to see the Days of 47 floats with Kristin and her girls. So fun to have friends with kids the same ages as mine! We need to hang out more often Kristin!

Took a visit to see Grandpa and Grandma Great in Escalante over the 24th.
We were all big fans of the parade(this wasn't all, trust me... They had floats and everything.) The kids had candy coming out their ears after it was over (the true sign of a good parade). We tried to make our way down to the center of town for the shoot out, but we had total meltdown going on before it started, so we opted to just go back for naps.
We got to spend lot of time with cousins, and just relax! We also went to a rodeo, and a family reunion while we were in town. As always, we had a great time. Thanks Grandpa and Grandma Great!
