What Will It Be?
Yesterday we made the appointment to find out whether the newest addition to the Lundeberg Family will be a boy or a girl. We will find out (unless the child is feeling a little too modest) on March 19th. So... I keep wondering, what will it be? My sister is having a boy, My cousin is having a boy, My friend Heather is having a boy, AND in all of these families (including ours of course), any other children they have are also boys. It makes me wonder, will Lundeberg #2 continue the trend, or will we be the exception to the rule? What do you all think?
Lundeberg Family Fun Day!
Karl had President's Day off, so we decided it was time for a little adventure. We were all in desperate need of a little sunshine and fresh air, so we packed up Riser's stroller and headed up to the Zoo. It was actually warmer than I thought it would be, and Riser was so happy to be able to just run around outside. Here are a few of the highlights.
Riser was fascinated by the Elephants. One of them (the one you can actually see in the picture) was munching on some hay and riser thought it was fantastic to watch him scoop it up with his trunk and eat it. (Who can blame him really, I was fascinated too!) After a few minutes we tried to put him in his stroller, but he wasn't done. He needed to get back out and watch for a few more minutes. Funny boy.
He thought these Tigers were terrific, because he could climb all over them. 2 very good looking guys if you ask me!
He was so excited when we walked in to see the giraffes... until one of them bent down to see him... he was pretty startled, but he got over it pretty quickly and had a good time watching them. He kept running from one side to another so he could see all of them.
Riser's favorite part of the day would have to have been... the great big ball. Really, Who could blame him? It combines 2 of his favorite things, and great big ball and water! It was pretty chilly but you never would have guessed it by how long he spent playing here.
He even found a little friend to splash with. The were both completely soaked by the time we were able to drag (and I do mean literally drag) Riser away. We had to strip him down to a t-shirt for the rider home, but look at that face. Joy... complete joy!

Riser's favorite video...
Warning: this is a powerful clip. It could cause fits, staring like a zombie and any number of other scary behaviors. Karl found this clip for Riser the other day on You Tube. He is now obsessed... even that seems a little too lite a word to describe how much he loves this clip. Today it caused 2 major temper tantrums (because I turned it off). He follows me around the house and says "Melmo... Melmo... Melmo?" When that doesn't work, he push me towards the door to the basement while saying even louder "MELMO" Just thought I'd share the love! Enjoy!

Nifty places to sit and rest...
Ever since Riser learned to walk, he has sort of been on the look out for nifty places to take it easy. Most of the time, he gets himself up and out before I can take a picture, but sometimes I am able to get it on film... Here's a few from the past couple months...
Today's spot. Inside the swim bag I left out last night. He was a little frustrated trying to get into the bag (very floppy) so I admit that I did help him get inside of this one. But he was so proud once he was in...
He might be on to something with this one, he was actually very portable sitting in this.
What a fabulous place for a good read.
And the bad news is.... These aren't clean....
Always so very helpful...

A Grandmother's rebuttal
As I checked my email this morning, I found that my mother-in-law, also known as "Grandma Kelly" had sent me an email entitled "Rebuttal to the Blog". I was laughing so hard while I read it, that i thought everyone ought to hear it... here it is...
A rebuttal... Riser's in his pajamas because we thought that would be warmer and then also we could bring him after, give him a nice warm bath, and get him dressed for the day; the poor little boy has socks on his hands because his parents have bought him no gloves (they probably have gloves); and how many other one year olds do you know that get to wear a WWII pilot's hat. Don't worry Riser's Mom and Dad, he was in good hands...
You Crack me up Kelly. Thanks for always being willing to take the boy... and then put up with the blogs that come after taking him!

Sledding with Grandpa
While Karl and I went to a party, Riser got to have a sleep over with Grandma Kelly and Grandpa Kraig on New Year's Eve. The next morning, they decided he needed to go sledding out front.... What a lucky kid to have such awesome grandparents!
Riser out sledding with Grandpa Kraig
They said they couldn't decide if he was having fun or not... I can't understand why... That is TOTALLY the face of joy...
Ooops... He fell over!
This is my favorite part... The ensemble... You can't see it, but he's in his sleeper, with socks on his hands, his Aunt Milly's snow hat on his head covered with... well really, Kraig and Kelly, Where did that leather hat even come from? But he pulls it all off don't you think? :)

Riser's Big News
This is mostly for all of our "non family" readers. On Christmas, Riser had some very important news to share with everyone... here it is.....

The pictures of him actually wearing the shirt did not work out so great, so, you know, you do what you can! Anyway, here we go again! Pretty crazy.... The new addition should be here some time around July 28th.
